Book Report - Rilke's Book of Hours

I've been trying to read more poetry this year. Which has honestly been refreshing. I dove into Rilke after re-watching JoJo Rabbit1 where it his poetry is quoted. I wasn't sure were to start and so I started with the Book of Hours.

It was beautiful.

Rilke wrestles with his relationship with God, and others, but mostly with God. We all have to wrestle with our relationship with Diety but he does so in a beautiful poetic way.

Here's a quick sample:

In deep nights I dig for you like treasure. For all I have seen that clutters the surface of my world is poor and paltry substitute for the beauty of you that has not happened yet.
