Review-How to live safely in a science fictional universe By Charles Yu

If I said the words: “Primer with daddy issues” how would that make you feel?

If it makes you feel intrigued then you might enjoy this book. If not, then, maybe not.

I could say more about how I thought it was going to be a fun, sci-fi, time travel, story, and then it is. But it very quickly turns into a cerebral discussion of the futures we long for, the people we miss, and the need to reconnect with our fathers. It is a quick read. It is a well told story in a surprisingly claustrophobic world.

It is also about people and the connections we have and lose and miss. And how little it takes to free ourselves from our past, but how hard it is to make that happen.

If is seem conflicted… well, I am.

I stand by the “Primer with daddy issues” analysis.
