On To New Horizons

"Good night, good night! parting is such sweet sorrow, That I shall say good night till it be morrow." - Juliet (William Shakespeare)

For the last three and a half years I’ve been working for the LDS Church as a front end developer, first on education projects then on the core stack team. I’ve learned an immense amount, written some cool code, worked with some great people, and pushed for a developer/design centric culture on the teams I’ve worked with. I helped shift from jQuery to backbone to angular to... (they’re still deciding). I’ve been a good Boy Scout. But, the time has come for me to head off into the world.

Starting Monday I will be joining the Bridge team at Instructure! It’s been a whirlwind of decisions, interviews, and more decisions.

I am excited to be joining a super talented team that will really push me and allow me to develop further in my career and as a developer. Plus it’s at the bottom of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Which as a cyclist is kind of a big plus ;-) Mostly I’m excited about tackling some new challenges, building a product again, after almost two years of writing library code and tooling for developers, and working with a bunch of people way smarter then me. It’s going to be fun!
